How It Works

1. Sanitise your workspace, hands, and tools. Wipe down the injection area on the grain bag with isopropyl alcohol.
2. Inject your liquid culture through the self healing injection port. Use sterile technique and keep the needle and port clean.
3. Allow the grain to colonise. Once at around 30% mycelium coverage, break up and shake the grain to redistribute growth for faster, more even colonisation.
4. Prep the monotub for spawning to bulk. Clean the tub and your work area again, then open your CVG bulk substrate and fully colonised grain bag.
5. Spawn to bulk in the monotub. Break up the fully colonised grain and mix it evenly with the CVG bulk substrate directly in the tub. Level the surface and lightly compress for an even, consistent substrate bed.
6. Close the monotub and give it time to colonise. Once the surface shows consistent, even mycelium coverage, you’re ready for the next step.
7. Once fully colonised, introduce fruiting conditions (fresh air exchange + humidity management). Maintain surface conditions, then harvest when ready.
